The start and finish of the Madden Challenge for EA Sports' Madden 17 seemed to come and go all too quickly this early April. Players battled it out for a chance at a share of $150K. For some, the high of the last event may be a wave they are still riding, but for others, the preparation for the Madden Championship in May has never stopped.
SetToDestroyX will be sending two players into the chaotic battle for $500K. ImWild jumped into the competitive scene, via playstation, with an explosive entrance into the Madden 16 Championship. While he made it to the final four, he was cut short from ultimate victory. Keeping it cool and focusing on practice, he's made it clear he will be one to watch this coming May. Drag, playing on the xbox platform, has pushed his way through match after match, working his way into being a contender for the championships based upon his leaderboard standing, as of recent. Put both players together in a fierce competition and one of them is sure to bring home the glory to the StDx esports org and themselves.
Both payers have put their heart and soul into preparing for May. April 29-May 14, they'll both be in Burbank, CA, along with the others who have earned a shot at the coveted grand prize. It's not just the money that pulls players into the competitive scene for Madden. Earning the title as the Madden Championship is a title that stands out above the rest for these players. While there is some luck involved, a lot of strategy and understanding of football is required to stand apart from the crowd. The title gives a player the recognition they so rightly deserve.
There are eleven days until the championships are set to start. Players cannot afford to choke, let their nerves win or second guess themselves. The last leaderboard standings rank Drag at 17 and ImWild at 33, but don't let the points fool you. With one man known for surprising the competition and the other known as a fierce player, both have a chance to blow the top players out of the water.
